Federal Supply Code 5133, Drill Bits, Counterbores, and Countersinks: Hand and Machine, encompasses all tools and equipment, non-powered and powered, that are used to create holes. Drill bits are tools with rotating cutting tips, reciprocating hammers, or chisels used to make cylindrical holes. Counterbores are tools used to make flat-bottomed holes that enlarges another coaxial hole so that fasteners like socket head cap screws can be inserted flush with the surface. Countersinks are tools used to make conical holes so that the head of a screw, nail, or bolt can be inserted flush with the surface. FSC 5133 includes both non-powered and powered tools. Note that FSC 5133 does not include tools for normal non-hole cutting or sawing. For non-powered cutting or sawing tools, see FSC 5110. For powered cutting or sawing tools, see FSC 5130.
