About National Aerospace Standards Co.
The National Aerospace Standards (NAS) are voluntary standards developed and enforced by the aerospace industry. Subject matter experts from Aerospace Industries Association member companies participate in committees and working groups to create and maintain the NAS library. The active NAS catalog currently contains more than 1,400 active standards. These standards cover a broad scope of areas such as NAS parts, Safety Management Systems, Nondestructive Test Personnel certification, Hazardous materials management, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, cutting tools, Airport Operations, and Trade Compliance Standards (TCS).
National Aerospace Standards are most well-known for state-of-the-art, strong, precise fasteners, electrical connectors, splices and terminations, rod end bearings, and many more types of hardware and components. The majority of NAS parts are also available as 3D CAD models. Beyond NAS Standards, the AIA supports standardization work at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). AIA holds the administrative office for ISO/TC 20, which refers to Aircraft and Space Vehicles as well as its subcommittee SC 16, for unmanned aircraft systems.
